Ronald Reagan was born on this day in 1911 in Tampico, Illinois. Today would have been his 112th birthday. At Landmark Legal Foundation, we are proud of our connection through our board of directors to one of America’s greatest presidents. When Reagan entered office, the economy was struggling, the Soviet Union had recently invaded Afghanistan, and American hostages had just been freed by Iran after over a year in captivity. Although we may face challenges today, Reagan showed us that an agenda of strong defense, free markets, and social values brings liberty and prosperity. Happy birthday, Ronald Reagan.
